The society has been created in 2017 to provide a common platform for fostering collaboration and easy sharing of knowledge base among researchers working in various areas of science and engineering that can impact materials of the future. The Society aims to bring members from varied disciplines such as biology, physics, synthetic chemistry,biophysics, theoretical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, medicine andallied disciplines with a common goal of developing materials that can impact healthcare, defense and the society together to build interdisciplinary expertise. It will be involved in promoting cross-disciplinary research, facilitating inter-group mobility and providing training opportunities for young students. For this, the society will actively involvein organization of conferencesand discussion meetings throughout the year. SIRMB strongly believes that a larger impact of science and technology in developing our surroundings can be achieved if the students are exposed, trained, and nurtured early. Hence, one of the highlights of the activities that SIRMB will undertake is in thefield by reaching out to school and college children through conducting workshops and science lectures. The society will further arrange for such students to access the top research labs and get mentored by researchers actively involved in the field.
